Celebrating Canada's Birthday, But Is It Really
The Birth Of Canada

Canada is notably one of the youngest countries in the world. According to the first image featured below selected from a wonderful book called the Chronicles of Canada published by Chronicle Publishing, Canadians celebrate Canada's birthday on July 1st for a reason that might surprise some. One hundred and fifty years ago, in 1867, the Queen of England executed and official proclamation marking July 1st a national holiday which was great for those who needed and wanted a day off work. Unfortunately as Canada was becoming a provincially unified Nation, some of Canada did not get to celebrate. In the pages below, in addition to reading about so many events and political issues Canada was facing, even in her infancy one must reflect on how far Canada has come, how wonderful a united Canada is and realizing her history, although compared to other nations hasn't even reached her tweens, Canada has made so many worldly contributions.

Astounding that 150 years ago there was already a tremendous amount of history being made relatively speaking. As Canadians look forward, it is remarkable that we can expect, with Canada's diverse nationalities, strong cultural and ethnic traditions, to continue to be remarkable, sensational, and well worth celebrating. It appears that Canada's diversity is Canada's strength!
